Apostat juif né à Prato, en Italie, dans la seconde moitié du XVe siècle, mort à Rome en 1539. Alors qu'il était encore juif, il publie à Venise, en 1515, une traduction latine des Psaumes, le « Psalterium ex Hebræo ad Verbum Translatum » ; il embrasse le christianisme en 1518, entre chez les Augustins et se consacre dès lors à la conversion des Juifs, se montrant si intransigeant dans ses sermons qu'on le surnomme « le fléau des Juifs ».
