Composer, pianist and editor of early music, born in Venice and died in Florence. He taught theory at the Istituto Reale Luigi Cherubini in Florence from 1910 and was the pianist of the Trio Fiorentino. Friend and collaborator of Busoni, he published editions of Italian Baroque composers. Member of the Italian Jewish musical community, he was affected by the racial laws of 1938 and reduced to giving clandestine private lessons.
