Financier et philanthrope russe né à Yurburg, près de Kovno, en 1821, mort à Königsberg, en Prusse, le 21 mai 1893. Installé à Königsberg à partir de 1866, il organise, lors des persécutions de 1881 en Russie, un comité de secours pour les émigrants juifs passant par la ville, et participe la même année à la conférence de l'Alliance israélite universelle tenue à Berlin. Il est ensuite désigné par les Juifs de Lituanie pour les représenter à la conférence des notables juifs réunie par Alexandre III à Saint-Pétersbourg.
