Professeur à Bologne puis Rome, auteur de nombreux ouvrages de mathématiques et de philosophie des sciences. Destitué de sa chaire en 1938 par les lois raciales fascistes. Beau-frère du mathématicien Guido Castelnuovo ; son frère Paolo Enriques fut zoologiste-généticien.
