Poète et grammairien polonais né à Przedborz vers 1760, mort à Tarnopol, en Galicie, en 1817. Tour à tour prédicateur, correcteur, hazan et enseignant à partir de 1780, admirateur fervent d'Élie de Vilna, il s'oppose vivement au hassidisme et à la mystique. Auteur d'une œuvre satirique abondante, dont le « Bayit Ne'eman » (1794) et le « Ḳol Nehi », élégie composée à la mort d'Élie de Vilna (1798).
