Estori Farḥi, explorateur de la Palestine, naquit vers 1282 à Florenza, en Espagne, et mourut en Palestine, probablement en 1357. Chassé de France avec les juifs le 22 juillet 1306, il gagna Perpignan, puis partit en 1312 pour la Palestine, où il s'établit à Bethsan, près de Jérusalem, après avoir refusé de rester à Jérusalem en raison de l'hostilité anti-maïmonidienne qui y régnait. Il consigna ses recherches sur l'histoire, la géographie et les antiquités de la Terre sainte dans son « Kaftor u-Feraḥ », dont l'unique manuscrit disparut à sa mort, mais dont des copies furent retrouvées et imprimées à Venise entre 1545 et 1548.
