Paul Fagius, de son vrai nom Paul Büchlein, fut un hébraïsant chrétien né à Rheinzabern, dans le Palatinat, en 1504, et mort à Cambridge, en Angleterre, le 13 novembre 1549. Formé aux universités de Heidelberg et de Strasbourg, il apprit l'hébreu auprès d'Elias Lévita et fonda à Isny une imprimerie hébraïque, avant de devenir professeur d'hébreu à Cambridge. Il traduisit en latin plusieurs textes hébraïques, dont les Pirké Avot (1541), et édita le Targoum Onkelos en 1546.
