Jewish historian born in Proszowice (Poland), Israeli citizen from 1957, died in Jerusalem. Specialist in the Middle Ages/early modern transition and cultural figures of Ashkenazi Jewry, he published numerous rabbinic texts from manuscripts, including the « true » commentary of Rashi on Moëd Katan (from the Escurial ms.) and a contribution on the family of R. Moses b. Yom-Tov « the Noble » of London (Tarbiz 40, 1971).
