Talmudiste, poète liturgique et chroniqueur allemand né en 1133, mort après 1196. Enfant, il assista aux persécutions des juifs du Rhin et trouva refuge au château de Wolkenburg ; il vécut ensuite à Neuss puis à Worms, quittant Cologne juste avant le massacre de 1187, où il perdit une grande partie de sa fortune. Poète liturgique réputé, Zunz lui attribue vingt-trois piyyoutim, dont certains sont encore récités en Allemagne lors des circoncisions ; son récit des persécutions des juifs entre 1146 et 1196, fondé sur sa propre expérience, compte parmi les documents historiques majeurs sur l'époque des croisades.
