Tossafiste et poète liturgique allemand du XIIe siècle, mort à Ratisbonne vers 1175, l'un des plus anciens élèves de Rabbenou Tam. Établi à Ratisbonne, probablement sa ville natale, il y fonda un collège rabbinique et se distingua par une indépendance d'esprit peu commune parmi les talmudistes allemands, refusant toute autorité post-talmudique, modifiant des règles pascales établies et autorisant, malgré les remontrances, des images de lions et de serpents dans la synagogue ; sa hardiesse dans l'exégèse talmudique lui valut une sévère réprimande de Rabbenou Tam lui-même, qui le jugea présomptueux. Poète liturgique accompli, il surpassa nombre de ses contemporains allemands et français.
