Amora palestinien du cinquième siècle ; contemporain d'Abdimi (Yer. 'Er. x. 26a) et de Berechiah II. (Gen. R. lxxvii. 3; Yalḳ., Gen. 132). Conjointement avec Abba Mari et Mattaniah, il permit aux Juifs de cuire du pain le jour du Sabbat pour les soldats romains sous Ursicinus (Yer. Beẓah i. 60c; comparer Jastrow, "Dict." 124b, _s.v._ ![](https://storage.googleapis.com/jewishencyclopedia/chars/V05p112006.jpg); Frankel, "Mebo," 55b _et seq._).
