Rabbin palestinien né à Jérusalem, mort à Alexandrie le 7 janvier 1786. Devenu rabbin de Rhodes en 1763, il se vit offrir plus tard le grand rabbinat d'Alexandrie ; auteur prolifique, il ne publia que peu de ses écrits, parmi lesquels « Ḳol Eliyahou », des responsa (Livourne, 1792), « 'Uggat Eliyahou », d'autres responsa (Livourne, 1830), « Shene Eliyahou », vingt-cinq homélies (1806), et « Ar'a de-Yisrael », sur la méthodologie du Talmud, publié à Vienne en 1821.
