Talmudiste allemand né à Berlin le 24 septembre 1740, mort à Hambourg le 22 janvier 1814. Formé auprès de Tebele Scheuer, rabbin de Bamberg, puis à la yeshiva de Schwersenz, il s'établit comme dayyan à Posen puis, en 1781, à Altona à la suite de son maître Raphaël b. Jekoutiel ha-Cohen, avant de devenir « rosh bet-din » des trois communautés d'Altona, Wandsbeck et Hambourg. Son commentaire du Choulhan Aroukh, « Mishnat de Rabbi Eli'ezer », fut publié par son fils Moïse en 1815 ; le reste de son œuvre resta manuscrit.
