Rabbin né à Cracovie vers 1665, mort à Safed, en Palestine, en 1742. Dayyan de Cracovie, il devint rabbin de Rakow en 1708, puis de Brody en 1714, avant de répondre en 1735 à l'appel de la congrégation ashkénaze d'Amsterdam. Grand talmudiste et cabaliste, il se rendit en 1740 en Palestine et s'établit à Safed, où il lutta en vain contre la lecture des œuvres des adeptes de Nehemiah Hayyoun et de Shabbetaï Tsevi. Ses ouvrages publiés incluent « Arba' Ṭure Eben » (Lemberg, 1789) et « Ma'aseh Roḳeaḥ » (Amsterdam, 1740).
