Edoardo Arbib (1840–1906), de la famille Arbib passée de Tripoli à Livourne puis en Italie, combattit dans l'expédition des Mille de Garibaldi, fut nommé sénateur du royaume d'Italie, dirigea la Gazzetta del Popolo de Florence et fonda le quotidien La Libertà ; il fut aussi historien et auteur de fiction.
