Ecclésiastique hongrois né à Temesvár en 1734, mort en 1797. Formé au Talmud Torah de Prague, il reçut en 1760 le titre de « Morenu », puis, saisi de doutes religieux, entama une vie errante à travers l'Europe — Dresde, Leipzig, Berlin, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Wesel, Halle, Londres — avant de recevoir le baptême à Amsterdam en 1767 sous l'influence du pasteur van Essen. Il étudia ensuite la théologie à Utrecht et devint en 1777 prédicateur à Mijdrecht, publiant plusieurs sermons et un ouvrage principal en trois volumes, « Israels Verlossinge en Eeuwige Behoudenis » (Amsterdam, 1769-93).
