Rabbin et auteur allemand issu de la vaste famille Treves, rabbin de Sulzbourg, en Bade, pendant plusieurs décennies et mort en 1880, Menahem ben Abraham Dreifus est l'auteur d'un code des devoirs individuels de l'Israélite, l'« Oraḥ Mesharim » (Mulhouse, 1858 ; 2e éd., Mayence, 1878), précédé d'un éloge hébraïque composé par son beau-frère Raphaël Wormser, rabbin de Soultz, en Alsace.
