Donath, Édouard

Austrian chemist born in Vsetín, in Moravia, on December 8, 1848, Édouard Donath is assistant at Zinck's chemical institute in Berlin in 1869, then at the higher technical school of Brünn in 1870, agricultural chemist at the Vienna testing station in 1874 and associate at the Bergakademie of Leoben in 1875, before becoming professor at the technical school of Brünn; he embraced the Christian faith in 1876. He published notably « Monographie der Alkohol-Gährung » (Brünn, 1874) and « Die Prüfung der Schmiermaterialien » (Leoben, 1879).

Chimiste autrichien ; né à Wsetin, Moravie, le 8 décembre 1848. Il devint assistant à l'institut chimique de Zinřck à Berlin en 1869 ; assistant à l'école technique supérieure de Brünn en 1870 ; assistant chimiste agricole à la station d'expérimentation à Vienne en 1874 ; et associé à la Bergakademie de Leoben en 1875. Actuellement il est professeur à l'école technique supérieure de Brünn. Il embrassa la foi chrétienne en 1876.
