Médecin français établi à Carcassonne au XIVe siècle, contemporain du médecin Jacob de Lunel, qui exerça ensuite à Tarascon en 1424, Dolan Bellan serait identique au chirurgien Maystre Bellant, associé à Bénédit du Canet d'Arles et à Moïse Marveaux de Marseille ; un juif du nom de « Bellan » est par ailleurs attesté à Carpentras en 1357.
