Rabbin italien ; il vivait à Rovigo à la fin du dix-septième siècle. Il fut consulté sur des matières talmudiques par R. Nathaniel Segre ; et ses responsa parurent d'abord dans le recueil « 'Afar Ya'aḳob », d'où ils furent copiés par Isaac Lampronti dans son « Paḥad Yiẓḥaḳ ». David, dans ses responsa, mentionne Azriel Diena comme son grand-père. Il y a beaucoup de confusion concernant son père. Ghirondi l'appelle David b. Azriel Diena, tandis que Mortara parle de deux David, l'un étant un petit-fils et l'autre un fils d'Azriel Diena. Il fut le grand-père de David Ḥayyim Diena, grand-rabbin de Rovigo.
