Rabbin allemand ; né à Zülz, Silésie prussienne, le 2 avril 1800 ; mort à Beuthen le 7 juin 1853. De 1829 jusqu'à sa mort il officiat comme rabbin à Beuthen, se distinguant comme prédicateur, talmudiste et hébraïsant. Dans les deux traités « Rücksprache mit Allen Gläubigen des Rabbinischen Judenthums, etc. » (rédigés en collaboration avec son frère David Deutsch), Breslau, 1843, et « Zur Würdigung der Braunschweiger Rabbinerversammlung », _ib._ 1845, il s'opposa vigoureusement au mouvement réformiste. Après sa mort ses deux frères, Abraham, rabbin de Gleiwitz, et David, rabbin de Sohrau, publièrent « Proben aus dem Literarischen Nachlasse des Israel Deutsch », Gleiwitz, 1855.
