Journaliste allemand ; frère cadet de Georg [Davidsohn](/articles/4988-davidsohn-bogumil) ; né à Dantzig le 26 avril 1853. Il rejoignit son frère au secrétariat de rédaction du « Berliner Börsen-Courier », écrivant des critiques satiriques d'acteurs, d'actrices et de chanteurs. Vaincu dans une attaque contre Lilli Lehman, il quitta peu après Berlin. Il se rendit alors en Italie pour rassembler de la matière historique, et acquit bientôt une réputation enviable dans cette nouvelle ligne d'effort.

Davidsohn est l'auteur de « Vom Nordkap bis Tunis », 1884 ; « Philipp II. August von Frankreich und Ingeborg », 1888 ; « Geschichte der Stadt Florenz », 1896 ; et d'une édition du dernier ouvrage nommé couvrant les treizième et quatorzième siècles, publiée en 1900.
