Rabbin polonais mort à Działoszyce en 1751, Samuel ben Juda Löb David succède à son père comme rabbin de Szydłów lorsque celui-ci devient rabbin de Cracovie, avant d'être appelé à son tour à Cracovie vers 1731 ; en butte à une opposition qui profite de son absence temporaire pour installer un autre rabbin à sa place, il reprend néanmoins sa charge à son retour, puis se retire à Działoszyce, où il meurt. Sa signature figure au bas de l'excommunication prononcée contre Moïse Ḥayyim Luzzatto.
