Écrivain et traducteur juif lituanien, né et mort à Vilna. Il traduisit en hébreu des œuvres de Friedrich Schiller (Guillaume Tell, 1878 ; Don Carlos, 1879), le Deborah de S. H. Mosenthal (1880) et le manuel d'histoire et de littérature juives de David Cassel (1886).
