David, Christian Georg Nathan

Économiste et homme politique danois né à Copenhague le 16 janvier 1793 et mort dans la même ville le 18 juin 1874, Christian Georg Nathan David quitte le judaïsme pour l'Église protestante en 1830, année où il est nommé professeur d'économie politique à l'université de Copenhague ; il fonde en 1834 l'hebdomadaire « Faedrelandet », siège comme député de 1840 à 1846, dirige le département de statistique de l'État de 1854 à 1875 et devient administrateur de la Banque nationale en 1858, avant d'être, après la guerre de 1864, secrétaire au Trésor dans le gouvernement Bluhme, puis de se retirer de la vie politique en 1870.
