Dayyan et prédicateur à Krotoschin, en Prusse, au XVIIIe siècle, David ben Joseph ha-Kohen est l'auteur du « Pa'amone Zahab », commentaire homilétique sur les quarante premiers chapitres des Psaumes, publié à Fürth en 1769 ; Nepi lui attribue aussi un commentaire sur le « Torat ha-'Olah » de Moïse Isserles, intitulé « Minḥat Kohen », dont seul Fürst donne un titre différent, sans que d'autres bibliographes ne le confirment.
