Rabbin de Szereszów, dans le gouvernorat de Grodno, l'un des rabbins les plus influents de Lituanie à la fin du XVIIIe siècle, David ben Jacob est l'auteur du « Ḥomot Yerushalayim » (Francfort-sur-l'Oder, 1807), commentaire sur la partie de l'Oraḥ Ḥayyim du Choulhan Aroukh allant de son début aux lois sur les tefillin.
