Rabbin lituanien du XVIIe siècle, neveu par sa mère de R. Moïse Rivkes, auteur du « Be'er ha-Golah », David ben Aryeh Löb de Lida exerce successivement à Lida, Zwolen, Mayence et Ostrog avant de devenir, en 1682, rabbin de la communauté ashkénaze d'Amsterdam ; soupçonné par les rabbins séfarades d'y être un adepte de Sabbataï Tsevi, il doit démissionner et quitter la ville, avant d'y revenir une fois la controverse apaisée, puis de repartir pour la Pologne, où il meurt à Lemberg. Il laisse plusieurs ouvrages, dont le « Be'er 'Eseḳ » sur ses démêlés amstellodamois (Lublin, 1684) et le « Migdal Dawid », commentaire cabalistique sur Ruth (Amsterdam, 1680).
