Daniel Timsit, born in Algiers on December 16, 1928 in an Algerian Jewish family (mother from Constantine, father from Algiers, grandfather rabbi of Constantine), died in Paris on August 2, 2002. Medical student and communist activist, then underground member of the FLN, he organized explosive laboratories (« Timsit network »). Having become a physician, he published from 1998 several accounts of his activism.
