Syndic des Juifs de tout le district, il obtient pour eux une juridiction spéciale et un décret de Philippe le Bel garantissant la possession paisible des synagogues, cimetières et autres biens communautaires de la ville ; selon plusieurs historiens, il pourrait être identique au talmudiste de Carcassonne en correspondance avec Salomon ben Adret de Barcelone et au poète qui échangea des vers avec Abraham Bedersi, et aurait, vers 1304, résidé à Carpentras comme rabbin.
