Hébraïsant italien, né à Ancône en 1806, mort à Florence en 1887. Formé au Talmud Torah de sa ville natale par le rabbin David A. Vivanti, il étudie ensuite l'italien et le latin malgré l'opposition de ses maîtres, puis devient secrétaire de la communauté juive d'Ancône, puis de celle de Florence. Traducteur passionné de textes hébraïques en italien, il publie notamment I Doveri de' Cuori (Prato, 1847), le Volgarizzamento del Libro di Job (Florence, 1874) et Il Salterio, traduction commentée des Psaumes (Florence, 1885) ; son fils, le compositeur et virtuose Federico Consolo, poursuivit son œuvre.
