Rabbin nord-africain, né à Djerba en 1772, mort dans la même ville en avril 1848. Aveugle et très pauvre, il est néanmoins l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages, dont Netib Miẓwoteka, commentaires sur le livre de Ruth et les Azharot d'Isaac b. Reuben et de Salomon ibn Gabirol, avec des prières et poèmes religieux pour la fête des Semaines (Livourne, 1841), et Sifte Renanot, commentaire des prières des jours de pénitence selon le rite de Tripoli (1837). Son ouvrage grammatical, Leḥem ha-Bikkurim, fut publié après lui par son petit-fils David Cohen en 1870.
