Rabbin et auteur italien de la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle, l'un des rabbins de Modène, réputé fin talmudiste. Ses responsa sur des questions talmudiques figurent dans le Paḥad Yiṣḥaq d'Isaac Lampronti, dans le Dibre Yosef de Joseph Ergas, à propos du droit de rachat, et dans le Shemesh Ṣedaqah de Samson Morpurgo. Selon Nepi, il fut le maître de R. Ismaël Cohen, auteur du Zera' Emet, et de Samson Ḥayyim Naḥamani, auteur du Toledot Shimshon.
