Journaliste et défenseur des juifs de Tanger, né à Mogador en 1844, mort à Tanger le 9 novembre 1888. Installé en Angleterre dans sa jeunesse puis établi à Tanger, il se fait le protecteur des juifs du Maroc, dénonçant sans relâche les atteintes à leurs droits, et fonde à cet effet un journal en français, le Réveil du Maroc. Représentant du board of delegates des congrégations hébraïques américaines et correspondant de l'Anglo-Jewish Association, il entreprend plusieurs missions périlleuses auprès de la cour du sultan en faveur de ses coreligionnaires.
