Hazzan américain, probablement né dans les États barbaresques, mort à Philadelphie en septembre 1811. Après avoir vécu à Londres dans sa jeunesse, on le retrouve à Québec puis à La Nouvelle-Orléans en 1777 ; il dessert la synagogue séfarade Shearith Israel de Montréal de 1778 à 1782, puis est élu ministre de la synagogue séfarade de New York cette même année, où il reste jusqu'en 1784, date à laquelle il accepte la charge de hazzan de la congrégation espagnole et portugaise de Philadelphie. Il épouse Rebekah Luria, d'une famille qui avait perdu plusieurs des siens dans l'Inquisition espagnole.
