Rabbin et érudit italien, né vers 1750 à Reggio nell'Emilia, mort le 28 mars 1834. Formé auprès de Sansone Naḥmani et Isaïe Vita Carmi, il fonde dans sa ville natale une école qui forme plusieurs rabbins, avant d'être appelé en 1825 comme grand rabbin de Florence, où il fonde une imprimerie hébraïque. Il est l'auteur de nombreux ouvrages pédagogiques et grammaticaux, dont un dictionnaire hébreu-italien et une grammaire hébraïque.
