Peintre italien, né à Ferrare en 1811, mort à Venise le 26 janvier 1856. Formé dans le style du paysagiste vénitien Canaletto, il expose en 1840 à Venise La Façade de la cathédrale de Ferrare, salué par le public, puis reçoit en 1841 une médaille d'argent de sa ville natale ; il compte en 1849 parmi les premiers juifs élus au conseil municipal de Ferrare. Installé à Venise en 1850, il pratique parmi les premiers la photographie artistique.
