Rabbin italien, né à Alessandria della Paglia dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle, mort à Reggio nell'Emilia en 1739. Issu d'une famille aisée et en vue, il est élu rabbin de Casale encore jeune, avant de devenir rabbin de Reggio nell'Emilia, poste alors important ; parmi ses disciples figurent son gendre et successeur Israël Bassano et Manassé Josué Padova, rabbin de Modène. Il est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages, dont Et ha-Zamir, Alon Bakut, commentaire des Lamentations, et Abot 'Olam, commentaire des Pirké Avot.
