Juif converti au christianisme, né au milieu du XVIIe siècle et mort à Prossnitz au début du XVIIIe, il portait auparavant le nom de Baruch et exerçait comme ḥazzan à Bruchsal avant d'être baptisé à Strasbourg en 1674. Après vingt ans à la chaire d'études sémitiques de l'université de Leipzig, il se retire à Prossnitz, où il revient au judaïsme. Il publie à Leipzig plusieurs ouvrages, dont une épître de Paul aux Juifs traduite du grec en hébreu (1676), un commentaire d'Abravanel sur les premiers Prophètes (1686), et un traité sur la foi et l'incroyance des juifs (1713).
