Auteur actif à Arles au milieu du treizième siècle, mort peut-être à Perpignan vers la fin de ce siècle ; selon Abraham Zacuto et d'autres, il fut le père de Lévi ben Gerson (Gersonide). Il compila vers 1280 une encyclopédie intitulée Sha'ar ha-Shamayim, qui reprend de nombreuses citations et des traités entiers tirés de traductions d'ouvrages arabes, divisée, à la suite d'Ibn Palquera, en trois parties consacrées à la physique, à l'astronomie et à la théologie — cette dernière n'étant, de son propre aveu, qu'une reprise du Livre de l'âme de Maïmonide. L'ouvrage fut publié à Venise en 1547 puis à Rödelheim en 1801.
