Hazzan de la communauté judéo-portugaise de Hambourg, né à Amsterdam en 1808 et mort à Hambourg en 1893. Élu hazzan en 1827, poste qu'il occupa jusqu'à sa mort, il en fut aussi le chef spirituel, habilité à célébrer les mariages, et exerça par ailleurs comme professeur et traducteur, étant nommé en 1843 interprète juré de la ville de Hambourg ; sa mort soudaine laissa la communauté sans chef spirituel jusqu'en 1894, les mariages étant alors célébrés par le rabbin de la communauté allemande.
