Converti au christianisme et missionnaire auprès des juifs, né en 1821 à Gross-Glogau, en Silésie, et mort en 1892 près de Berlin. Après avoir dirigé des journaux royalistes à Erfurt à partir de 1849 et s'être fait baptiser en 1855, il fut nommé en 1867 missionnaire de la Société de Londres pour la propagation du christianisme parmi les juifs et affecté à la Christuskirche de Berlin, tout en combattant l'antisémitisme dans plusieurs écrits publiés entre 1880 et 1885.
