Simha ben Abraham Calimani est un rabbin et auteur vénitien mort à Venise le 2 août 1784, linguiste, poète, orateur et talmudiste polyvalent, également correcteur à l'imprimerie hébraïque de Venise. Il est l'auteur d'une traduction italienne du traité michnique Avot, « Il Rabbino Morale-Toscano » (avec Jacob Saraval, Venise, 1729), d'une grammaire hébraïque insérée à la fin d'une Bible (Venise, 1739) puis traduite en italien (Venise, 1751), et d'un drame allégorique, « Kol Simha » (Venise, 1758); libéral en matière religieuse, il prit part à la campagne de Wessely contre le pilpoul dans les synagogues.
