Coralie Cahen est une philanthrope française née à Nancy en 1832 et morte à Paris le 12 mars 1899, épouse de Mayer Cahen, médecin-chef de la Compagnie du Nord. Ayant perdu son mari et sa fille unique avant 1870, elle se consacre au soulagement des malheureux, fondant en 1866 la Maison israélite de refuge pour l'enfance à Romainville. Pendant la guerre de 1870, elle sert comme infirmière-major à Metz puis à Vendôme, et entreprend trois voyages en Allemagne pour venir en aide aux soldats français prisonniers. M. de Freycinet la décore en 1889, et le « Refuge » qu'elle dirige jusqu'à sa mort est transféré à Neuilly, où il est inauguré le 4 juin 1883.
