Abraham Jacob Bruck est un éducateur russe, auteur d'ouvrages en hébreu et en russe, né dans le district de Rossienny en 1820 et mort à Iekaterinoslav en 1893. Formé à la yeshiva de Volojine, il apprend seul la grammaire hébraïque ainsi que le russe, l'allemand, le français et l'anglais; longtemps professeur d'hébreu à l'école gouvernementale pour garçons juifs de Kherson, il fonde ensuite une école privée pour filles juives, subventionnée par l'État, qui lui vaut une médaille officielle. Collaborateur assidu de la presse juive russe et hébraïque, il traduit en hébreu, sous le titre « Hatan Damim » (Lemberg, 1878), un roman français de L. Z—ski dépeignant la vie des Juifs de Russie.
