Talmudiste hollandais et auteur hébreu; mort vers 1750 à Amsterdam, où il était chantre. Il écrivit: "Orot ha-Miẓwot" (Lumières des Préceptes), sur le but des préceptes bibliques et talmudiques (Amsterdam, 1753); et "'Emeḳ Binyamin" (Vallée de Benjamin), sur les problèmes halakiques suggérés par ses amis à Amsterdam (_ib._ 1753). En contraste très marqué avec le langage pur et simple de ses ouvrages se trouve leur contenu. Par exemple, l'usage du vin lors de la "ḳiddush" et de la "habdalah" est pour Brandon une preuve que, de même que le vin est un produit de beaucoup de travail qualifié, le monde n'est pas une essence originelle, mais l'ouvrage d'un maître ("Orot ha-Miẓwot," 9b). Brandon écrivit aussi "Keter Torah" (Couronne de la Torah), un poème sur le mariage du poète hébreu David Franco-Mendez d'Amsterdam.
