John Braham, nom de scène de John Abraham, est un ténor anglais né à Londres en 1774 et mort dans la même ville le 17 février 1856. Orphelin en bas âge, choriste à la synagogue de Duke's Place puis adopté par le chanteur Leoni, il débute à Covent Garden le 21 avril 1787, chante à Bath sous la direction de Rauzzini jusqu'en 1796, puis à Drury Lane dans « Mahmoud » (30 avril 1796); parti étudier le chant en Italie en 1797, il réapparaît à Covent Garden en 1801 et interprète en 1806 le rôle de Sesto dans la « Clemenza di Tito » de Mozart, première œuvre du compositeur jouée en Angleterre.
