Marc Borchard est un médecin et auteur allemand né dans le Mecklembourg en 1808 et mort à Paris le 21 juin 1872. Diplômé de médecine à Halle, il s'installe en France comme médecin hospitalier et légiste à Bordeaux, où il s'engage dans plusieurs sociétés d'utilité publique, avant de passer ses dernières années à Paris; il publie notamment « L'Hygiène Publique chez les Juifs, son Importance et sa Signification dans l'Histoire Générale de la Civilisation » (Paris, 1865) et « Intolérance et Persécutions Religieuses » (1868).
