Albert Bing est un médecin autrichien né à Nikolsburg, en Moravie, le 20 septembre 1844, diplômé de médecine puis de chirurgie de l'université de Vienne. Membre du personnel de l'Hôpital général de Vienne à partir de 1871, il devient assistant des otologistes Politzer et Gruber, puis privat-docent d'otologie à Vienne, et dirige depuis 1878 des consultations d'oto-rhino-laryngologie à l'hôpital des sœurs de charité de Gumpendorf; auteur de plus de vingt-quatre monographies, dont « Vorlesungen über Ohrenheilkunde » (Vienne, 1890).
