Esther Bernard, née Gad, plus tard Domeier, est une poétesse et femme de lettres allemande née à Breslau, en Silésie, vers 1770 et morte vers 1814, petite-fille par sa mère du célèbre rabbin Jonathan Eybeschütz. Mariée vers vingt ans à un certain Bernard, avec qui elle s'installe à Berlin, elle divorce après quelques années et épouse le docteur Domeier de Londres, avec qui elle vit à Malte; dès sa jeunesse elle publie des poèmes et nouvelles dans plusieurs revues allemandes, dont une nouvelle en anglais, « Marcus and Monima » (1795), ainsi que, après son second mariage, « Gesammelte Blätter » (Leipsic, 1805) et « Briefe Während Meines Aufenthaltes in England und Portugal » (1803).
